Best Practice in Anesthesia

This video was produced to comprehensively demonstrate the 5 main phases of anesthesia including: 1) patient evaluation and planning, 2) premedication, 3) induction, 4) maintenance and, 5) recovery. Each phase is described in great deal highlighting the most current, best practices in the performance of anesthesia. The patient in the video is a 4 year old, male, neutered Labrador Retriever requiring an oral heath examination, teeth scaling and polishing. Alfaxan® Anesthetic Injection is administered as the induction anesthetic the video. After watching the video the veterinarian and technician should have a good appreciation of how to best prepare and perform anesthesia in each individual patient. The video also highlights equipment checks, monitoring equipment use and preparation of emergency drugs.
